Shower!

Lisa threw a shower at her house for me yesterday! She invited tons of people from the ward and some of my friends and family in town. It was so fun! We had a kitchen theme and everyone brought one of their favorite recipes and a sample to share. I am pretty equipped to be a good cooker now! I can't wait to try it all out! Here are some pictures from the fun party.

lookey lookey!

I designed our guest sign-in book at Shutterfly with all of the engagement pictures Jeremy and I had taken. It just came today... and I love love love it! It is exactly what I wanted!

It's Official!!!

So we thought we were going to be homeless when we were married! But not anymore!!! Today I signed a contract for an apartment that Katie and I will be living in when we are married! The apartment complex is called Villa Rose and it is south of campus! Katie will move in on January 2 and then I will move in when we get married! I am so excited, it will be such a fun apartment. I was worried about living in a really small apartment, because that is all I saw when I went to go look at apartments. But this apartment is perfect, for a reasonable price! So now we have a place to live! Thanks Katie for looking so hard for an apartment! Also, over the Thanksgiving break, Katie and I went to go register at Target for our wedding! We were registered for some fun things. I didn't think it would be very fun, but it made me think about how fun it will be when Katie and I are married, so I enjoyed it. After I left to come back to school, Katie and her mom went to go register us at Bed Bath and Beyond. Married life is going to be so fun! Only 65 days left til the Big Day!!!!!!

We aren't HOMELESS!

After searching for quite a while Jeremy and I have finally found an apartment! WOOHOO! It has been so exhausting and way stressful trying to find a place to live, but today was the day! It really happened. The stars were aligned and they were giving us some love today. We will be living south of campus and I am so relieved that we actually found a place. I was getting a little nervous and Jeremy was getting sick of looking at apartments every other day when they already had a list of at least ten people interested. Housing is absolutely crazy! There was this one apartment that was listed one night and Jeremy called the next morning and it had already been rented! INSANE! We are so grateful that we found a place to live! Jeremy went to look at it this morning and he was the first one. It looked good and so we went for it before someone came around and snatched it away from us. Maybe people need to stop getting married and then married housing will be easier to find... just kidding! I still can't believe the hunt is actually over. It is so nice. If you want to see some pictures of an apartment similar to ours click here.

Our fish

Reuben is dead.
He died last week and Jeremy just hasn't felt the need to tell all of our faithful readers. (like we have any) So I guess that I have to. We have decided to get another little fish at the beginning of the winter semester because we can't have a fishbowl without a fish. Don't worry though... I will be taking care of it, so it won't die.
just kidding Jeremy... i know you took good care of Reuben.

The TIES....

have arrived! WOOHOO! I couldn't be happier! I just love orange and blue. I hope I still like the color combination by the time the actual wedding rolls around... that would be pretty funny if I didn't.

Just to let you know...

Just so everyone is at ease and that no one is worried and wondering...Reuben is alive and well!! I don't know what is up with that fish, but he is now swimming normally and he is not floating on his side! We think he was just feeling Katie's pain, as she was suffering with the blood clots, but now that she is back, Reuben is OK and so am I! We are at Katie's house, so I don't have a picture of him, but when I get back to Provo, I'll be sure to attach a picture of him as soon as I can!

Sad face :(

So I know it's been a long time since we've updated this blog, which is my fault, so here is some sad news. For this past Valentine's Day, I bought Katie a fish, a beta fish!! Katie decided that it would be named Reuben and I thought Beta was a pretty cool name too, so that is what I always called him. But recently, Reuben hasn't been doing very well. I thought that beta fish were supposed to be like these all powerful fish that lived forever even if you didn't take good care of them. Well that was a lie. Not that we didn't take of him, cause we always did. Even since Katie has been in Romania, I have kept good care of him, changing his water, feeding him and all that good stuff. But now he is floating on his side and when we swims he kinda swims on his side. I don't know much about fish, but I'm pretty sure that isn't a good sign. So Katie wanted me to take a last picture of him before he passes on to the next life. Reuben was a great fish, I don't know what went wrong. But Katie and I have decided that when she gets back we will go shopping for a new fish! Thanks Reuben for a great almost 8 months! He's not dead in the picture, that's just his new way of relaxing.

Pictures!

Me and Jeremy got some engagement pictures taken last Friday. Jamie took them and she is in our ward. She did such a great job! I love them. We went downtown to wander the streets and find some cool walls. It was so fun! If you want to take a look at them you can check them out on her blog: http://jamiejonesphotography.blogspot.com/. I love the first one! Thank you Jamie!

We're going to...

Hawaii!!!! As we have been making a lot of plans for the wedding, we decided to make plans for our honeymoon. And yes, we are going to Hawaii! We are so excited. We are going right after our winter semester, so we are leaving the end of April and we will be there for a week. Katie has been there before but I have never been there. We already started to think about some fun things that we can do while we are there. There's scuba diving, cool beaches, a volcano and tons of other stuff! We can't wait!

Invitations!

The invitations have been ordered. Yay! One more thing done on our giant list of things to do before the wedding. Jeremy, my mom, and I went and ordered them yesterday afternoon. We knew pretty much what we wanted so it was really quick and easy. They are going to be pretty cool and really bright. I kind of want them to be a surprise, so that is all that you get to know for now! :)

Where are we going to live?

Well we started to look for apartments and see if we can get on any waiting lists so we don't have to worry too much about finding a place to live. Just recently we got in contact with an apartment complex called Tew Apartments. We have a friend who was in our ward last year and she just got married and told us about this place where they are living, they said it's big and cheap, so we checked into it! They told me that we will be second on the waiting list for January. So it looks pretty good, but if anyone knows of any place where we could live, that isn't too expensive, we would really appreciate it!

Uh...Flowers?

We got those, too.... as of today. Thank you to my Aunt Mary Jane who gave me some numbers of florists in Salt Lake. I ended up going with this florist named Megan. So that's a relief... I think we pretty much have all of the main things figured out. Here is a picture of my dream bouquet that I found on theknot.com. It is made of orange lilies and roses. So orange. So bright. So perfect.

YES!!!

Guess what?!? We have a photographer, well two of them! Yes we do and I have decided that I am the luckiest girl ever. Our photographers are my cousin Josh and his wife Kristy and I am so excited! I have been stalking Josh's photography blog for about a year and I love his work. It's perfect! Jeremy is a fan of it, too! Kristy also has a photography blog and specializes in children's photography. She does such a great job. They are both experts and I still can't believe their photographing our wedding! They live up in Washington and have agreed to make the trip down south! This is seriously like a dream come true! Thanks Josh and Kristy! It's going to be such a fun day!! Something Blue

These are my shoes! Guess where we found them? Famous Footwear! We searched through multiple malls to find bright blue flats and we didn't really find anything. We just checked Famous Footwear randomly and there they were. Just waiting for me to find them. :) Anyways.... I'm way excited! They are the perfect blue, comfortable, and oh so cute!

Check these ties out

We've been trying to decide what we want all the men to wear at the wedding. We are making some progress and this is what we've decided. We are all going to wear black tuxedos and then I am going to wear the tie that is striped blue and orange and then we are going to have the men wear the orange ties and then they will have blue boutonnieres. The colors are really bright and we think it's going to look really good! I can't wait!

The Dress!!

We went dress shopping last weekend and I found the dress!! YAY! My mom, my Aunt Lisa, and my cousins Sarah and Betsy all came, so it was quite a fun girls outing. They gave me great feedback and the dress is PERFECT! I feel like its totally me. I love it! Thank you for all of your help! It was so fun! I couldn't put a picture of the dress that I liked the most because it has to be a surprise... But these were some other dresses that I tried on.

Need Glass?

While we were in St. George we went to Tai Pan for some center pieces. We had to get 27 glass containers of three different sizes: tall, medium, and small. These are the ones that we found. The store was perfect for what we needed. We also found some bright ribbon that we will tie around some of the vases. If you couldn't guess our colors for the wedding they are orange and blue. We also found the cool silver letters at Tai Pan (they are pictured below). We aren't sure where we are putting them yet... but it will be way cool.

We're ENGAGED!!

YAY! Jeremy proposed to me yesterday afternoon. He was giving me a tour around the little town he grew up in Maryland. We started walking down this bike trail that had green trees on both sides. It was so pretty! We stopped walking and talked for little bit and then he got down on one knee and proposed! I of course I said yes! So now we are engaged and we thought it would be fun to start a blog together! We hope you like it...
